ABSTRACT

This paper contains all about time based generator start and stop with interface, for the past years now we all know that generator has been a very good means of solving power problem in our country due lack of consistency in power supply so almost all the home in our country poses one or two generator in their various homes. But even at that, the stress of starting and stopping the GEN. has been a challenge to some people and resulting to not ONING the GEN. because of the stress and that is while we come out with this project to solve the problem. And with this system the problem will b 90% solved.

Introduction

The heart of a generator control panel is its ability to automatically start and stop a generators engine. This is accomplished by sensing when the Automatic Transfer Switch needs the generator to run. The Generator Control Panel, turns on the fuel or ignition, and engages the starter. It senses that the engine has started, disengages the starter, and waits for the Automatic Transfer Switch to request that the generator be shut down but in our system there is no ATS. Another critical function that the generator control panel can perform is protecting your generators engine. The more advanced the Generator Control Panel, the more things it can monitor. The monitoring of generator functions such as voltage, current, frequency, are all possible. Some Generator Control panels have built in displays so that an operator can visually check on the generators function. Some have remote communication capability to alert personnel of a problem. Some simple Generator Control Panels can be programmed from the front panel with parameters unique to a specific installation.

AIM/OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

The objective of the is to design a device that can be used to control our generator automatically without any stress.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT

We are in the 21^st century where technology has made almost very thing easy without stress such as money transfer, money withdrawer, recharging of airtime and many more. Time based generator start and stop with interface is very significant because almost all the home in our area have GEN. and we have old people in the house which sometimes cannot start the GEN. so with this system now, we don’t need to disturb our self about they will go with the GEN. because it will automatically start and stop itself.

LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT

1.     It does not have the ability to check the level of fuel, gas or oil on it.

2.     It cannot use on small generator like tiger etc.

3.     It will not changeover when there is main supply.

4.     It very costly.

APPLICATIONS AND ADVANTAGES OF THE PROJECT

1.     This project can be used in the companies to switch the generator.

2.     Can be used in green house.
